Description

The K3BL is Sodick’s most versatile small hole EDM. It handles the widest electrode range of any machine in the K Series, from ultra-fine micro holes up to larger diameter drilling, so shops can take on more applications without additional equipment. Powered by Sodick’s rigid linear motor and the LN Assist control system, it delivers consistent precision across long production runs with automation options that keep the machine running with minimal operator involvement.

Sodick’s rigid linear motor comes standard on the Z-axis of every K3BL. Unlike conventional ball screw drives, there are no mechanical parts wearing against each other, so accuracy remains consistent and maintenance stays minimal. The result is a machine that performs the same on day one as it does years down the line.

The K3BL covers a wider electrode range than any Small Hole EDM Sodick has ever built. From micro hole work at the finest tolerances to larger diameter drilling, it handles applications that would previously have required two separate machines. That means more flexibility and space for your shop floor.

The 18-position ATC changes electrodes automatically during cutting, so production keeps moving without an operator present.

The ceramic table provides high insulation, keeping electrical discharge energy focused exactly where it needs to be. It also runs cooler and lighter than cast iron, which reduces wear over time.
