Sodick’s automatic electrode feeder (AEF) comes standard on the K4HL. Electrodes are automatically advanced into the chuck prior to drilling, and are ejected into the storage container once exhausted. Additional options include the automatic electrode feeder changer (AEF-C) which expands the K4HL’s capacity further. In addition, the automatic lower guide changer (LGC) enables complete flexibility for parts with multiple holes of varying diameters. The rotary table (A/B) and part probe options are available for further customization.

K4HL is equipped with a penetration detection function as standard. Since the penetration of hollow-shaped workpieces such as turbine blades is automatically detected and machining is stopped, unnecessary machining after penetration can be prevented and unnecessary machining feed can be eliminated, so machining time can be shortened. is. De-ionized water is used as the processing liquid.

We have newly developed a “SPK power supply” specializing in fine hole machining. Optimal servo control enables high-speed, high-quality hole drilling for difficult-to-cut materials such as titanium alloys / nickel alloys in addition to iron / cemented carbide / copper / aluminum / brass. The automatic programming software “LN Assist” supports program creation with simple operations using an interactive input method. Continuous machining of multiple holes is possible by including the operation of optional devices such as AEF-C, ATC, and LGC, can be easily programmed.

Standard on the K3HS, SLN Assist comes standard on all K4HL small hole EDMs, offering a simplified graphics interface for easy operation. With capability for automatic calculations and macro functions, operators can manage complex cutting layouts and create their own programs regardless of skill level. Once setup is complete, the assist software can position cutting locations and coordinate settings.
